Dear Denise,

Your website is a representation of your organization to the public and to your different target audiences. With the end of the year approaching, take some time to review your website:

  • Does it help your organization meet its objectives?
  • Does it meet the needs of your clients, partners and staff?
  • Does it help you in your fundraising activities?
  • Do you build contacts and alliances from the website?
  • Is the content updated?
  • Is it easy to use?

Featured Website
DIL

The Developments in Literacy organization (DIL) was launched in February 1997 in Southern California. Its main purpose is to work for the eradication of illiteracy, in the remote and neglected areas of Pakistan, by establishing primary and secondary level non-formal schools for underprivileged children. DIL has succeeded, in a period of five years, in establishing 200 schools.

The DIL website, from the beginning, has been a primary method for informing its international base of funders and international chapters with updates on the projects, newsletters, financials, photos and personal stories of how the organization has helped tens of thousands of children.

Video To Gain Visibility
Videos

Video is an often overlooked tool for non-profits. It is an essential accessory in effective training, promotional, and event presentations. The most important task for non-profits to aid in advancing their mission, is to gain visibility and video is the simplest and most effective medium for this task. In a variety of formats, video can be the solution to common problems such as reaching sponsors, attracting clients, presenting the right image, and training employees and volunteers.

Email Newsletters
Email

Learn how to leverage email marketing to grow your organization: collect visitor email addresses, retain clients and generate more revenue.

According to Doubleclick's 2004 Consumer Email Study, consumers increasingly value permission email marketing messages and prefer them to other types of marketing:

  • 54% said they would like email to replace telemarketing
  • 45% said they would like email to replace in- person sales calls
  • 40% said they would like email to replace direct mail
  • 33% would like to see email replace retail offers and coupons.

Email sender recognition and relevant content are the keys to successful email marketing; both have a dramatic impact on likeliness to open and convert to an active client.
